Item #31577 - 4 oz.
Before this little luxury entered my life, I didn't understand the lure of dusting powder. Now I'm outta control. Besides adding a touch of grace and elegance to my days (have I been watching too much ''Downton Abbey,'' perhaps?), it gives my skin a velvety smoothness you can't get from lotions or oils alone. My clothes literally glide on after my morning body-oil-and-dusting ritual. What I love most is that it helps me feel fresh, even in summer heat. Body powder lifts excess moisture and sweat off our bodies before it has a chance to cause irritation such as chafing, redness, and rashes (as well as unwanted odors at times).
When choosing body powder, you want to avoid any that contain starches such as cornstarch and rice because they convert to glucose, which is a natural sugar that feeds both bacteria and yeast (not desirable for dark and moist areas). Also, cornstarch is more apt to cake and stick to skin, and farmers and suppliers can no longer guarantee non-GMO corn, even if it is certified organic. A few studies have linked the use of talc with ovarian cancer, so until there's more conclusive research, I'm steering clear of that as well. Sumbody uses only silky arrowroot powder, which is a natural astringent and drawing agent that prevents irritation.
Before air-conditioning, women powdered their sheets and towels. You can sprinkle it on linens and blankets stored in your closet too, preventing them from smelling stale. Sprinkle it in your shoes, socks, underwear, under your ironing board cover, under the floor mat in your car, between pillows and cases, and on your carpet before vacuuming. (I told you I'm out of control!). You can use this unscented powder as a refill for the stainless steel shaker the original came in (sold separately), or just put it in your favorite container. Either way, you'll love using it with our Plush Velour Powder Puff (sold separately).
