I've given this as a wedding gift twice. It's a great choice for a couple who loves to cook together.

It's a beautiful dish, cleans easily, bakes up a lovely apple crisp, just enough for four dessert servings. It sits in a place of honor on my counter because I like to see it.

I think this is very beautiful, as well. It is definitely suitable for no more than four generous servings.

Lovely but very small--check the measurements. Only 7 x 9 inches. The picture of the artist at work is misleading. No casseroles in this pan--only little desserts. . . I expected something bigger. The glazing is indeed very beautiful.

A Note from Isabella Customer Service: Thank you for your review. We're so sorry this baking dish wasn't the size you expected. To avoid confusion, we always include measurements in our product descriptions in our hopes that that this will give you a good idea of the actual size of each item.

I enjoy cooking so much with this dish. I wanted something a little fancier than just my old glass dishes. I just wish it came in a larger size.

Talk about nourishing all five senses! Heaven to me is baking something glorious in this charming baker. I may not be able to afford granite counter tops, but by golly, I can treat myself to the luxury of Lidia's Favorite Baker. I use it for everything from brownies to casseroles. If you're going to take the time to bake and then clean up afterwards, why not make a spiritual experience out of it? There's just something about using this baker that feels like you've come home -- and home is a beautiful and comforting place! This dish would make a lovely wedding gift. Because these are hand painted, the design may vary slightly. Microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. Read more...

Artists have been making unique pottery in Boleslawiec, Poland since the early Middle Ages. Today, their handmade pottery remains different from any other. The clay they excavate from the area is of extremely high quality, and the finished product feels solid and durable in your hands. Each piece is a unique creation of beauty, individually signed by the artist.

In our society of fast everything, where quantity seems to trump quality, these pieces affirm that art and beauty are still alive and well. Somehow it feels comforting hearing that Polish pottery is making a resurgence in the U.S. Things can't be too hopeless when people still yearn for Old World beauty and craftsmanship, even when it costs more than what's being mass produced on an assembly line.

In the world of Polish pottery, there are three categories of artists. Sometimes you'll see pieces in outlet stores at a greatly reduced price. These are generally from Category 1 artists who are learning the craft. We met a woman whose family members are Category 3 artists in Boleslawiec. Their pottery is considered top of the line and is what you see here.
