A Memoir of Fulfilled Desire
Noelle Oxenhandler
I loved this book. Like the author, I too have been skeptical about all the hype around ''manifesting'' your dreams through positive thinking and affirmations. I, too, am Buddhist in being and nature and thus feel that wishes and desires are supposed to be tamed as they are distractions from serious spiritual practice and service. And yet, I do have wishes and desires. I too would love a house, a lovely man to grow old with, and of course, I want direct access to my soul.
So I picked up this memoir with interest, even excitement. Could this woman have actually decided to spend her time wishing and, not only that, managed to fulfill those desires in one year? I had to see how she did it, whether she succumbed to The Secret or spent days actively visualizing the perfect partner. Did it actually work? And if so, how? I wasn't disappointed.
