It is no coincidence that there are two fish etched in the bottom of the Tibetan Abundance Basin. One of Asia's most beloved symbols for prosperity, the fish is a component of most New Year's feasts because it also symbolizes togetherness. As part of the celebration, the fish is never entirely eaten, signifying that the family will always have enough.
The design at the base of the bowl also includes the yin yang symbol, a timeless representation of the duality that surrounds us and fills our lives. Without light there is no dark, without cold there is no hot, without scarcity, there is no abundance.
