An Apothecary Blend for Energy & Hormonal Balancing
When I first tasted this tea, all I knew was that it tasted really good. After drinking it for several days, I noticed I was feeling really good, too. Because I had just experienced the end of what had been a very close friendship and was basically in the fetal position, anything that made me feel even half-way normal certainly got my attention, so I began researching Rhodiola Rosea in earnest. Because the label says ''For energy and hormonal balancing,'' I was curious why it was having such an effect on my mood.
It turns out that this legendary herb has been helping people out of depression for generations in China and Russia. Clinical studies in Russia performed at leading Soviet universities have found it to be one of the best natural anti-depressants ever discovered, much more effective than St. John's Wort and Kava Kava. Rhodiola is classified as an extremely powerful adaptogen, an herb that helps us adapt to stress. Since 80% of all illness can be traced back to stress, I'm not going to stop drinking this tea any time soon!
I contacted the maker of the tea, and he said that this particular blend of Rhodiola Rosea and Lichee Congou Black tea (which has naturally-occuring caffeine) is extremely popular because it super-oxygenates the bloodstream and gives you a ''lift,'' yet has a calming effect, helping you to focus. Also, according to a recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, those who drink about 1 1/2 cups of black tea a day cut their risk of heart attack in half, making this one amazing tea I plan on drinking every day.
