They say the average woman consumes 4 to 9 lbs. of lipstick in her lifetime. I probably ingested that much by the time I was 22! So hooked am I that I have a plaque in my office that says 'Put on a little lipstick; you'll be fine.' Considering that lipstick is referred to as 'the most dangerous of all cosmetics' due to its unsavory list of ingredients, from artificial colors to lead, how 'fine' is that?! Living an environmentally and health-conscious lifestyle is very important to me, so I felt torn (not to mention hypocritical!) each time I returned to a certain cosmetic counter to get my favorite lipstick, but return I did because I couldn't find a natural product with the same irresistible look and feel as my old standby. Over the years, I tried one lipstick after another in hopes of finding a healthful alternative.
It took years of testing (and ingesting), but (trumpets, please!) last year I finally found the perfect (and I don't use that word lightly) lipstick. It is pure magic. First of all, it glides on effortlessly, leaving neither stickiness nor oiliness -- just pure luscious, creamy dreamy coverage in exquisite, natural colors. Everyone loves the light, ultra-subtle vanilla flavor, too. The case is a perfect size. And speaking of size, the minerals used are micro-sized, not nano-sized, another very important factor. There's not a single synthetic, preservative, or artificial anything in them.
Taj Mahal is a glorious gold shimmer that you layer under or over other shades. I was able to create my perfect daytime lipstick layering it over Morocco. Some even like to wear it alone.
