Based on works of art from all over the world from as far back as the 12th century, this collection of angels could end up being some of the very prettiest ornaments on your tree, centerpieces on your table or mantle, or hung from high, and can be a Christmas tradition that takes on a life of its own.

They'll arrive in book form, one to a page. Felt tip pens, watercolors or colored pencils are the best. Creating an angel is great therapy; you could get delightfully lost in coloring in the details and making sure that every outline feather on every wing is cut perfectly. Or not. It would be hard to make these angels turn out looking anything but lovely. And when the holiday season is over, they can be assembled and packed away until next year.

There is no limit to how involved you can get in decorating these figures, and you certainly don't have to complete them all the first day - or even year that they arrive. Customers have told us that coloring these angels has become an annual Christmas tradition for their families. ''I first brought one of these books of angels home when we originally carried them and I think we eventually accumulated 4 books over the years (not to mention giving innumerable copies as gifts accompanied by a set of markers). Every year we bring out the unfinished angels maybe a week before Christmas, set aside an area of the dining room table, and put out markers, colored pencils, crayons, glitter, glue, sequins, etc. Throughout the course of days, lots of family and friends of family are in and out of the house. Some sit down and get totally involved in creating an angel. Others add a little something to ones that have already been started. The youngest children are particularly happy with gluing on glitter and sequins. The teenagers and adults like painstakingly coloring in every detail. One nephew made a ''punk'' angel when he was a 'tween -- all black! We have quite a collection now, and we wish we'd had each person sign and date the angels they created. When we first began doing this, we perched the various angels on the Christmas tree, but as the collection has grown, we've put all the completed angels together on a table as a host of angels, or had them lined up across the valance of the drapes in the living room -- sort of an ''angels we have heard on high'' effect. The last Christmas my older sister was still in good shape (she died several years ago), we attached nylon cord to the angels and hung them individually from the ceiling in front of the fireplace, going from the fireplace to the entry doorway. The effect was magical. You walked into the house to be greeted by hosts of angels flying above you. My sister burst into tears when she came over for Christmas that year -- she was so touched by the sight. We did the same thing this past year, and my granddaughter and daughter-in-law were full of delight and wonder at the magical effect when they came in on Christmas Eve.

Making the angels could also be a family project or group gift for someone. Each family or group member can create an angel and sign it and then you give all the angels to the recipient. You can send angels to members who live elsewhere and ask them to complete one and return it to be part of the group gift.

This started out as such a small activity, with just a few angels being made the first year we did it, and now has grown to be quite a collection as we've brought out the unfinished angels for people to decorate over the years. Making the angels has become a treasured tradition in our family and bringing out the box of finished ones always brings back memories of who made each one and when they did it.''

Depending upon your location, your order should arrive within 3-7 business days via Standard UPS. If shipping via US Parcel Post, please allow 2-3 weeks.

We ship by both UPS and the U.S. postal service. We select whichever method provides the most efficient delivery of the items you've ordered. UPS 2nd Day Air - Add $12.95 to standard shipping (Continental U.S.). We need a physical street address. This guarantees you will get your order within 2-3 business days (excluding weekends) after we ship it.

UPS One Day Air - Add $22.95 to standard shipping (Continental USA only). We need a physical street address. This guarantees you will get your order one business day after we ship it (excluding weekends).

Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. Territories - We normally ship all HI and AK orders by U.S. Mail Parcel Post (normal delivery time is 2-4 weeks). Add $8.95 to regular shipping for PRIORITY MAIL; after your order is shipped, you can expect it within 3-10 mailing days. Add $16.00 to regular shipping for UPS 2ND DAY AIR; please allow 3-4 business days from the time your order is shipped. (We need a street address.) No UPS to APO/FPO addresses.

Canadian and International Shipping:
Unfortunately, we no longer ship to international addresses, including Canada. We only ship to U.S. addresses, APOs, FPOs, State departments, and U.S. territories.

Sales Tax

We collect sales tax based on the "ship to" address of your order. We are required to collect sales tax in California, which is where we are located. If you're shipping to California, please include tax as follows:

Calculate 7.75% of the total of your merchandise.

We don't collect tax on gift certificates.

Sales Tax Exemption

We are required by law to collect sales tax on any orders going to California. If you are a tax-exempt organization, we need to have a copy of the Exemption Certificate issued to you by the State of California on file before you can order tax-free. You may either mail or fax (619-670-5203) us a copy of your certificate. We ask that you place your orders by mail, fax (619-670-5203) or phone. If you are ordering by phone, please call our customer service line, 1-888-481-6744, between 6am and 6pm Pacific time.

Return Policy

If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 4 months for a refund of the item price or an exchange for another item. For items returned after 4 months, we will give you a Chinaberry credit for the purchase price. On the back of your invoice, we provide you with a return form to complete. Please include it with your returned item(s). If an item is defective or if the order was filled incorrectly, we will send you a prepaid return label. If you have lost your return form, click here to print one out. We will do our best to handle the transaction quickly and in accordance with your wishes.
